SAN FRANCISCO -- As the country's largest and longest-running exempt visual arts event since 1975 the SF make open Studios will be held Saturdays and Sundays, Oct 1-23 Nearly 1000 local, established and emerging artists will explain their studios throughout the city to showcase their complet works, as well as their works-in-progress. The result provides art lovers with the opportunity to befitting artists, tour studios and view/purchase original artworks that have not been exhibited elsewhere. Paintings, chisels ceramics, furniture, glass, photographs, prints, jewelry, drawings and wearable art will be included in the exhibit to More than 60,000 art patrons from the Bay area, as well as from around the world, are awaited to tour the participating artists' studios in warehouse buildings, shipyards, public spaces and private homes
A private preview party, which featured more than 600 representative artworks, was held in succession Sept. 29. The organizer of SF exhibit Studios, ArtSpan, produced a full-color catalog and a Web site to ease the self-guided tour.
